Federal President Joachim Gauck and Daniela Schadt visited the French Republic on 25 and 26 January 2017. As his term of office draws to an end, the Federal President was welcomed in Paris for talks by French President François Hollande. He also met various representatives of French culture and society. At a ceremony in which President Gauck received an honorary doctorate from Paris Sorbonne University, he gave an address and then participated in a meeting of the Académie française.

Federal President Joachim Gauck and Daniela Schadt visited the French Republic on 25 and 26 January 2017.
