Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier traveled to the Arab Republic of Egypt from 10 to 12 September.
With his visit, the Federal President wanted to honour the long history of close and diverse relations between Egypt and Germany. A long tradition of cooperation exists in the fields of education, science and business. Furthermore, Egypt is a key player in the region with regard to foreign and security policy and a dedicated mediator amid the current crisis in the Middle East.
