Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited the Republic of Moldova from 29 to 30 September.
In Chisinau, the Federal President was welcomed with military honours by the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu. As well as holding political talks with the President, the Prime Minister and representatives of parliament, the Federal President opened a business conference and met German Academic Exchange Service alumni and local politicians. He also visited the Museum of Ethnography and the Engineering College in Străşeni and planted a tree in the Botanical Garden in Chisinau.
The Federal President’s trip was a sign of support for the reform course being pursued by President Sandu and Prime Minister Gavrilița. The Federal President was accompanied by a high-level business delegation.
