Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Elke Büdenbender traveled to Boston from October 30 to November 1. The trip marked the end of Wunderbar Together, the Year of German-American Friendship. While there, the Federal President held political and expert talks and delivered a speech at the reopening of Goethe-Institut Boston. Together with his wife, he attended a joint concert of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Gewandhausorchester Leipzig.

Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Elke Büdenbender traveled to the United States of America from October 30 to November 1. The trip marked the end of Wunderbar Together, the Year of German-American Friendship, which was held under the patronage of the Federal President.

In Boston, the Federal President first met for talks with Charlie Baker, the Governor of Massachusetts, and participated in a discussion with German and U.S. experts on the subject of populism. He also delivered a speech at the reopening of Goethe-Institut Boston. Together with his wife Elke Büdenbender, he attended a joint concert of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Gewandhausorchester Leipzig that marked the end of the Year of German-American Friendship.

On November 1, the Federal President visited Harvard University, where he participated in a panel discussion on the Ethics of the Digital Transformation. While in the U.S., the Federal President also visited Gropius House and toured a German-American biotech company.
