Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited the Republic of Slovenia on 9 and 10 May. In Ljubljana he was welcomed with military honours and held talks with President Borut Pahor, with Prime Minister Marjan Šarec and with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Dejan Židan. He attended a concert on the occasion of Europe Day and discussed with students on the future of Europe.

Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited the Republic of Slovenia on 9 and 10 May 2019.

In Ljubljana he was welcomed with military honours by President Borut Pahor and layed a wreath at the Monument to the Victims of All Wars. He then conducted political talks with President Pahor and also with the Speaker of the National Assembly. In the evening, he attended a concert on the occasion of Europe Day.

On the second day of the trip, the German delegation held detailed talks with the Slovenian President. Following a joint discussion between the two Presidents and students on the future of Europe, Federal President Steinmeier met Slovenian Prime Minister Marjan Šarec for talks. In Bovec, he visited the Kobarid Museum on the history of the First World War as well as a supplier for the car industry.
