Federal President Steinmeier visited the Republic of Bulgaria on 4 and 5 April. In Sofia, he was welcomed with military honours prior to conducting political talks with President Rumen Radev, Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and President of the National Assembly Tsveta Karayantcheva. In Plovdiv, this year’s European Capital of Culture, the Federal President visited a German company and held discussions with culture professionals on European issues regarding Bulgaria.

Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited the Republic of Bulgaria on 4 and 5 April.

In Sofia, the Federal President was welcomed with military honours by President Rumen Radev. The Federal President held political talks with President Radev and Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, as well as with President of the National Assembly Tsveta Karayantcheva. He also met business representatives and intellectuals.

On the second day of his trip, Federal President Steinmeier toured the production location of a German company and met school children and students. After a tour of the centre of this year’s European Capital of Culture, the Federal President held discussions with culture professionals on European issues regarding Bulgaria.
